Ford Key Types We Cut & Program

Ford's SecuriLock (PATS) immobilizer arrived in 1996, moving from 40-bit to 80-bit chips over the years, with high-security HU101 blades and Intelligent Access push-button fobs on newer trucks and SUVs. We handle every generation — chip keys, flip keys and proximity fobs — cut and programmed in the van.

Popular Ford Models We Service

Older or newer than these? Call (702) 660-7877 with your year and VIN — we'll confirm coverage on the phone.

Ford Key Replacement by Model

Ford F-150 Key Replacement

We make more F-150 keys than keys for any other vehicle, period. The truck spans every Ford security era: 40-bit PATS chip keys from 1996, 80-bit chips from about 2011, high-security HU101 blades on 2015+ trucks, and Intelligent Access proximity fobs with remote start and tailgate release on modern Lariat and up.

F-150 keys live on job sites, and job sites eat keys. We cut and program at the site so the truck (and the crew) keeps working — and we key fleets alike so a foreman's ring doesn't need twelve keys. Tailgate lock cylinders and worn ignitions are F-150 staples we fix at the truck.

Lost the only F-150 key at a job site? VIN-code cutting at your location — the truck doesn't move. Fleet of trucks keyed alike? Yes, one of our specialties; ask for fleet pricing.

Ford Escape Key Replacement

Escape keys track three eras: standard PATS chip keys through 2012, flip keys and early Intelligent Access on 2013–2019 models, and proximity fobs standard on the current generation. Hybrid Escapes — original and new — use the same keys as their gas twins.

The Escape is a school-run and trailhead vehicle, so our calls are lockouts with the fob in the cupholder and spares for one-fob households. Lockouts are the cheaper problem — see car lockout service — and a spare visit prevents the expensive one.

2013+ Escape flip key wobbly? The pivot wears; we re-shell or replace at the car. Spare fob while one works? Half the price and drama of all-keys-lost — do it.

Ford Explorer Key Replacement

Explorers run PATS chip keys through 2010, then move quickly to Intelligent Access — push-button start is near-universal from 2016. Explorer fobs carry liftgate and remote-start functions we program as a set, and the keypad on the door (a Ford signature) can be re-coded to match a new key set.

That door keypad saves more Explorer owners than they realize: if you're locked out but remember the code, you're in. If you don't remember it, we retrieve and reset it while making your replacement keys — worth doing on any used Explorer purchase.

Don't know my Explorer's door code? We pull and reset it during key service. Police Interceptor Explorer? We service retired fleet units routinely — same platform.

Ford Fusion Key Replacement

Fusions started with PATS chip keys, adopted flip keys mid-run, and finished (2013–2020) with Intelligent Access standard on most trims. The Fusion flip key-era shells crack at the button pad — a cheap re-shell fix we do while you wait.

Fusion keys disappear in the valley's usual places — casino floors, rideshares, pool decks. Replacement is same-day at your location, and for the push-button cars we cut the hidden emergency blade too, so a dead fob battery never strands you.

Fusion fob buttons dead but car starts? Remote board issue — often just the battery or pad; we test before replacing. Fusion Hybrid/Energi same? Same key platform, same service.

Ford Mustang Key Replacement

Mustang keys follow the F-150's chip history in a leather jacket: PATS from 1996, 80-bit chips on the S197, and proximity fobs standard from the 2015 S550 onward. Classic pre-1996 Mustangs use plain steel keys we cut by code — including trunk and glovebox.

Mustangs are second cars and weekend cars, which means keys sit, corrode and vanish between drives. We make spares for stored cars, replace fobs that spent a summer in a drawer with a leaking battery, and rekey locks on freshly bought project cars so the seller's spare means nothing.

Just bought a used Mustang — rekey it? Smart on any private-party purchase; we rekey doors and trunk at your garage. GT500 fob? Same S550/S650 platform — programmed on site.

Ford Focus Key Replacement

The Focus ran PATS chip keys through 2011, then flip keys with the high-security HU101 blade on 2012–2018 cars — the generation that also brought Ford's known-sticky ignitions on high-mileage examples. Push-button start appeared only on Titanium and ST trims.

Focus work is honest commuter-car work: fresh code-cut keys for worn originals, flip-key re-shells, snapped-blade extractions and ignition cylinder service, all at the curb. The Focus chip key remains one of the cheaper Ford keys to replace.

Focus key sticks at ACC position? Known wear pattern — we service the cylinder in the car. Focus ST/RS fob? Yes, both — programmed at your location.
