Jeep Key Types We Cut & Program

Jeeps carry Sentry Key transponders on older Wranglers and Libertys, Fobik keys through the 2010s, and Enter-N-Go proximity fobs on current Wranglers, Gladiators and Grand Cherokees. We cut and program every generation — at the trailhead if that's where the key was lost.

Popular Jeep Models We Service

Older or newer than these? Call (702) 660-7877 with your year and VIN — we'll confirm coverage on the phone.

Jeep Key Replacement by Model

Jeep Wrangler Key Replacement

Wrangler keys track the generations: plain steel keys on YJs, Sentry Key transponders from the TJ era onward, Fobiks on JKs, and proximity fobs on most JLs (2018+). Doors-off season complicates everything — fobs ride in consoles, bounce out on trails, and sink at Lake Mead.

We meet Wranglers where Wranglers go: trailheads off Kyle Canyon, the sand near Nelson, marina lots. VIN-code cutting means a lost-everything Wrangler doesn't need a tow off a trail road — just enough signal to call us. Doors-off advice, free: tether the fob, not to the roll bar.

Fob bounced out on a trail run? We make keys at any spot the van can reach — call with a pin drop. JL with half doors — different locks? Same key system; the doors change, the fob doesn't.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Key Replacement

Grand Cherokees run Sentry Key transponders through 2010, Fobiks briefly, then Keyless Enter-N-Go proximity fobs from 2011 with remote start and liftgate control. The current WL generation continues the proximity line and adds nothing you need to worry about — we cover it all.

The Grand Cherokee is the valley's suburban trail-capable daily, so calls run from school-lot lockouts to fobs lost at Valley of Fire. We also deregister lost fobs on request — theft rings target Grand Cherokees, and a floating fob is a risk not worth keeping alive.

Grand Cherokee L three-row? Same WL platform — covered. Lost fob at a trailhead, spare at home? We can open the Jeep so you can drive home on the spare — often the cheapest fix; see lockout service.

Jeep Cherokee Key Replacement

The KL Cherokee (2014–2023) uses Fobiks on base trims early on and Keyless Enter-N-Go proximity on most of the range after. Classic XJ Cherokees (through 2001) are the opposite end: plain steel keys, cut in minutes, beloved and increasingly collectible.

For XJ owners we cut fresh code keys and rekey worn door and ignition cylinders to keep 25-year-old Jeeps original. For KL owners it's modern fob work at the driveway. Two different worlds; one phone number.

XJ ignition worn loose? We rebuild or rekey the column cylinder at the Jeep. KL fob functions? All programmed — remote start included where equipped.

Jeep Compass Key Replacement

Compass keys split at the 2017 redesign: earlier models use Fobiks and Sentry Key transponders, while the current generation runs proximity fobs on most trims. It's one of the valley's most common commuter crossovers, usually bought used, usually with one key.

A Compass spare is a quick, inexpensive driveway visit — the kind of small job we're happy to do same-day. Fob shells on 2017+ models wear at the buttons; pad swaps preserve programming and cost a fraction of replacement.

Compass from an auction with one Fobik? Standard — we add a spare and deregister nothing you don't ask us to. Trailhawk trim? Same keys — trim changes tires, not transponders.

Jeep Gladiator Key Replacement

Every Gladiator (2020 on) is a JL-platform truck: proximity fobs on most trims, Fobik-style keys on base Sports, all covered by the same equipment we bring to Wranglers. The bed adds a use case — fobs set on the tailgate and driven away from.

Gladiators work and play hard here; we've cut Gladiator keys at construction sites and at the Logandale dunes in the same week. Same rules as the Wrangler: VIN-code service anywhere the van can park, spares strongly advised before the season starts.

Fob drove off the tailgate — truck still running? Don't shut it off; call us en route and we'll meet you with a programmed replacement. Mojave/Rubicon differences? None key-wise.

Jeep Renegade Key Replacement

Renegades (2015 on) ride on the Fiat-derived small platform, and their keys follow: flip keys with transponders on base trims, proximity fobs on Latitude and up. The flip-key hinge is the usual wear point, and re-shells are the usual cure.

Renegade owners skew first-car and city-commuter, so we keep the jobs quick and the prices matching the car: re-shells over replacements when boards are good, spares cut at apartments and workplaces, honest quotes before the van rolls — see pricing.

Renegade flip key floppy? Re-shell before the blade separates. Same platform as Fiat 500X? Closely related — both covered, keys differ by model.
