Acura Key Types We Cut & Program
Acura shares Honda's immobilizer platform: transponder keys from 1996 on, laser-cut blades through the 2000s, and Keyless Access proximity fobs on current models. We stock Acura blanks and fob shells and program them at your location.

Acura Key Replacement by Model
Acura MDX Key Replacement
MDX keys track Acura's three key eras: transponder remote-heads on 2001–2006 models, laser-cut remote-heads through 2013, and Keyless Access smart fobs from 2014 on. The laser-cut years matter — that blade needs a high-security cutting machine, which our vans carry as standard equipment.
The MDX is Acura's family workhorse in the valley, and the calls match: spare fobs before road trips, fobs that quit after a pool-bag soaking, and the occasional all-keys-lost at Summerlin trailheads. All handled at your location, VIN-code cutting included.
MDX fob survived the washing machine but acts flaky — replace it? We test it first; water-damaged boards usually degrade further, so a fresh programmed fob is the safe fix. How fast can you reach Summerlin? We have a dedicated Summerlin unit — usually 20–30 minutes.
Acura RDX Key Replacement
Every RDX (2007 on) uses a laser-cut blade, with remote-head keys on the first generation and Keyless Access proximity fobs standard from 2013. Current RDX fobs also carry remote start — a function we program as part of any replacement.
Typical RDX work is a second fob for a car bought used with one, and shell swaps where years of keychain wear cracked the case but the electronics still work. Both jobs are done curbside, and both cost well under what the dealer quotes for "lost key service."
Does a new RDX fob include remote start? Yes — all factory fob functions come programmed. One working fob left — how urgent is a spare? Very: a spare now is a quick visit; all-keys-lost later costs more and takes longer.
Acura TLX Key Replacement
The TLX has been smart-key-only since it launched in 2015 — push-button start across the range, laser-cut emergency blade inside the fob. Replacement means programming a new proximity fob to the car, which we do at your home or office in a single visit.
TLX drivers most often reach us after a night out on the Strip ends with a fob in a rideshare. If the car's parked in a casino garage, we meet you there — garage jobs are routine for us, and the TLX never needs towing for a key.
Fob went home in an Uber — options? If it's coming back, we can open the car so you're not stranded; if it's gone, we program a replacement on the spot. Is the TLX Type S fob different? Same platform — same job.
Acura TL Key Replacement
The TL sedan (through 2014) uses laser-cut transponder keys — remote-heads on most years — and they're now old enough that original keys are wearing out en masse. A TL key cut fresh by factory code restores the crisp action the worn original lost years ago.
We keep TL blanks stocked because the third-generation TL (2004–2008) remains everywhere in the valley. Worn ignitions on these cars are common too; we service the cylinder in the car and match it to your existing key.
TL key sticks in the ignition — key or cylinder? Usually the worn key; a code-cut replacement is the cheap first fix. Remote stopped working but key starts the car? The remote programs separately — quick fix at the van.
Acura Integra Key Replacement
Classic Integras (through 2001) use simple mechanical keys — no chip, quick to cut — while the revived 2023+ Integra is a modern smart-key car on Honda's current platform. Two completely different jobs, one phone call either way.
Older Integras are theft targets, so beyond keys we rekey door and ignition locks for owners who want the only working keys in their own pocket. For the new Integra, we program additional fobs and handle lost-fob replacement on site.
Can you rekey my 90s Integra so old keys stop working? Yes — door, trunk and ignition matched to one new key. New Integra fob price? Upper part of our published range, quoted exactly by VIN.
Acura Key Replacement Cost in Las Vegas
Our published rate for replacement car keys is $89–450 depending on year and key type — laser-cut Acura keys sit mid-range and smart fobs a bit above — and the price is quoted in full before a technician is dispatched. That's usually well under dealer pricing, with no tow on top. See the complete price list or our automotive locksmith service page.
